My Approach

Therapy with me is practical, collaborative, and grounded in real life.

The first session is a little different than the rest—it often needs to cover legal and insurance requirements like confidentiality, mandatory reporting, and diagnosis. Please be patient with that step; it doesn’t reflect what most sessions will feel like. After that, the work begins to take its real shape.

My approach combines evidence-based, human-centered methods that support lasting wellbeing. Each person’s path is unique, but therapy often draws on the approaches below.

Therapeutic Relationship & Style

Therapy works best when it feels safe, steady, and respectful. I bring a calm, transparent, and human approach to our work together. You’ll always understand what we’re doing and why—what I call continuous informed consent—so you can make choices about your care. My goal isn’t to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you build awareness, resilience, and meaning.

Therapeutic Modalities

I use several well-established methods, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness-based approaches. Together, these help you understand your inner world, clarify your values, and build steady change that lasts.

AI-Assisted

When appropriate, I offer optional AI-guided exercises to help you see the breath of an issue or provide specific scenarios for emotional connection. These exercises are always guided by me and are designed to deepen—not replace—the therapeutic process.
